Sir/Madam,

The complaint dated 11/06/2020, was placed before the Commission on 10/07/2020. Upon perusing the complaint, the Commission directed as follows:

The complainant has alleged that 21 persons have been held as bonded labourers at a brick kiln named Maa Udyog Dada situated at Village Baragdawa, PS Maharajganj, District Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. It is further alleged that the workers are being physically assaulted by the owner. Transmit the petition to the DM, Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh with directions to depute a competent officer immediately for a spot enquiry and identification of bonded labour, if any. If bonded labourers are found, immediate steps must be taken for their release and rehabilitation. Enclose a copy of complaint for reference. An Action Taken Report should be submitted to the Commission within four weeks positively.

2.         Accordingly, I am forwarding herewith a copy of the complaint as an attachment for taking appropriate action in the matter as per the directions of the Commission. It is requested that an Action Taken Report be sent to the Commission within 4 weeks from the date of receipt of this letter.
