Sir/Madam,

The complaint dated 13/05/2020, received from DR LENIN RAGHUVANSHI in respect of CHANDAN BANWASI AND GUDDU BANWASI, was placed before the Commission on 13/07/2020. Upon perusing the complaint, the Commission directed as follows:

The complainant has alleged that the victims, belonging to Scheduled Caste, were placed under quarantine by the state after they returned from Ahemdabad to Varanasi due to the Covid-19 lockdown. On 11/05/2020, the victims were using the village handpump outside their quarantine centre when a group of 4-5 people came and assaulted them for using the handpump. The accused persons beat up the victims with sticks and stones and greviously injured the victims. The complainant is seeking Commission's intervention for necessary action. Transmit a copy of the complaint to the SSP Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh for necessary action.

2.         Accordingly, I am attaching scanned copy of the complaint for necessary action as per the directions of the Commission.
