New Delhi.
Sir,
Greetings from PVCHR.
Please refer to the link: http://headlinestoday.intoday.in/site/headlines_today/programme/andhra-pradesh-schools-turn-into-paddy-godowns/1/142295.html
The TV news report refers to thousands of secondary and high schools in North Telangana, Andhra Pradesh are being used as ideal place for storing paddy. The school hostels are also not spared. The students are studying out in open.
While the state administration confirms this action, a bumper harvest and lack of godowns are considered as main reasons for this problem.
In this context, on behalf of PVCHR, I request NHRC to look into the matter and take necessary action to get the students back into the class rooms immediately so that they continue their education in an ideal condition. The state must be directed to coordinate among its departments to ensure proper storage of the precious paddy stock.
With regards,
Dr. Mohanlal Panda
